Drunk Driving Statistics Involving Deaths

Did you know that every day in the United States, 28 people die in a motor vehicle accident that involved a driver who was under the influence of alcohol?

According to the CDC, in 2015, 10,265 people died in alcohol-impaired crashes, which accounts for nearly a third of all traffic-related deaths in the US. In the same year, nearly 1.1 million drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

DUI Arrests

Just under one million people are arrested every year for DUI/OVI offenses, and of those people 1/3 of them are repeat offenders.

You have to ask yourself why. Why would someone get behind the wheel of a car and drive when there are so many other options? The answer is simple. It is because they are intoxicated, and when you are under the influence of alcohol, the chances that you will make a poor decision are drastically increased.

Playing it Safe

If you are going to drink alcohol, please make the safe choice and do not get behind the wheel.

To be considered legally drunk, a breathalyzer test must register .08 or more.

Remember, you can get pulled over for suspicion.
